View Full Version : "EzineArticles getting trounced..."

I received this email from Travis Sago and I thought
it would be important to share.
Here it is... and I quote:
"Travis here with an EXCITING UPDATE and
tip for ya.
I love tips that don't take a lot
of work, but haul in BIG results...
Don't you?
I told my affiliates about this article directory a few
months ago...and the ones that jumped on it
are bringing in almost TWICE the traffic with just
a wee bit more work.
Here's the deal...
I gotta lot of love for Ezinearticles.com.
But here's what you do...
Take the same articles you've got placed on Ezinearticles.com
and put them on ArticlesBase.com too.
When I first released this tip...ArticlesBase.com was ranking
really well.
But today...
Over HALF of my ArticlesBase.com articles are ranking HIGHER
on Google than my Ezinearticles.com articles. Yeeeeaaaah Baby!
What?
What's that?
Dupe content?
Good question...here's what's happening...
Google is listing BOTH of my articles for long tail phrases...and I
am not changing the articles AT ALL."
I have just begun to try it and I'm already seeing
some good results.
Best of luck,

I believe quite a few have received this one - we appreciate you posting it! Hopefully some will come back and share results of their testing of this theory. :)

It probably is if he is saying that it is working for him, but it is worth a try at least if you want to think about testing it out. Keep us posted on how it works for you if you do try it. :)

As you learn, take in what you need for now and take notes for things that you might want to try or add at a later time. This way you will not become overwhelmed with the wealth of information that you will continously learn on a day to day basis :)

I submitted 4 articles as well and they were approved in a day. Will have to wait and see. One question though, how do I find out how they rank and how do I find out how my Ezine articles rank?
Thanks
Teddy

This is normally found by typing your keyword into the search engine wrapped in quotes .
Here is also a great tool to use. Just put in your articles url :)

For some reason my Ezine artical keeps getting rejected. I have followed there rules i have not spamed it, anyone have any suggestions?

Overuse of keywords will get it rejected, but if you didn't do that, it may be something else. What did they tell you was wrong? You can check your messages within your Ezine account as well as your email.
Did you put in affiliate links in your bio? This can not be done either. Let us know what they said so we can try to help you further. :)

They said i can't use the same keyword in the article body as whats in my title.

06-05-2010, 03:39 PM
That is very strange. I have never heard that. That is how we get found in the search engines. I would almost resubmit it and try to get it approved by someone else. There are different people there who approve or reject article submissions and sometimes you will get a different answer the next time.
You can also contact them and ask them about it. Keep us posted! :)

I have resubmited it and now just waiting on there reply but i will take onboard your advice thanks.

It could take some time (up to 7 days) for a reply, so your best bet may be to use that same keyword or phrase and write another article, Squidoo lens, or blog, even an ad and submit it elsewhere to get more exposure. :)

Hi Jamie,
I have found that different rules apply when your articles are being approved. I have submitted an article which is rejected, but then re-submitted it and have it approved?? Try to fix obvious problems, but I must say I never come across your problem as I have submitted an article with my keyword being the title.
Good luck.
Teddy :)

There are different people approving them or not, so it can be different each time, which is strange.

Ezine can be quite a learning experience but can also make you a better writer. As mentioned, there are different people who view your article for submission. As Teddy mentioned, fixed the errors that were mentioned and resubmit. They are almost always approved the 2nd time :)

06-06-2010, 09:03 PM
Jamie,
Could it be that the title has already been used by someone else? I have had that happen to me a few times and just added a few words to it to make it more unique. But as long as you have the keyword first this should work with Ezine.
Let us know once it is approved :)

I have spent some more time checking the article through and the first time i submitted it they refused point blank in the first day so it has been a little longer so i am very hopfull. But thanks for the great advice and help much appreiated.

I think it's now my turn with Ezine... I submitted an article 4 days ago and it still sits in the review and still on the 20% status. I never had an article not move in 4 days... :(
Jamie
06-08-2010, 01:08 PM
I was told Teddy that it can take 2 weeks sometimes so hopfully it won't take that long?
Moderator 1
06-08-2010, 01:55 PM
As mentioned in their guidelines, it can take up to 7 days. If you do not hear back at that point, you should contact them. If they do not approve it, then it can take another 7 (not usually) to approve it or not again.
Keep us posted! :)

I have had two articles rejected by ezine articles because they were too similar to articles they had already published. However, I wrote these articles myself from scratch. Very frustrating!!
I submit my articles to several websites.

KitKat how many articles would you try and submit on a daily basis.
KitKat
06-10-2010, 02:15 PM
Well, if I am starting a campaign, I try to come up with my main keyphrase and do anywhere from 10 original articles, and then I spin them to get about 30 more or so... and then if one of my campaigns may be slipping in the ranks, I would do a few articles and then spin them.
I don't write article every day any more. Most of the time now, I use an article writing service. It is well worth it for my time and my potential profits.
So, sorry, that is a hard question... but I hope I gave you an idea. :D
Jamie
06-10-2010, 02:38 PM
That's good advice thanks by the way which writing service do you use KitKat because article writing is not my strongest point.

Thanks Kitkat. :)

Keyword research can be a lot of work, but if you find highly targeted keywords, you should provide yourself with a good source of traffic and sales. You want to get found in the search engines, meaning the first page, no further than the second. :)
Forum Admin 2
06-11-2010, 01:42 PM
Jaime,
The link I provided gives a list of article submission sites to use. These will have the ranking that the search engines has given them.
Anna,
I have used my own search keywords. Words that I would use in finding information. I have come up with quite a few good ones with low results. I then go back in to use the tools to see if I can come up with others. just another way of finding keywords :)
portana
06-11-2010, 02:47 PM
I have just been writing on topics which I think people would be interested in. Like 'why weight training is good for your health' for example. I don't check keywords that much but I have to. I have been having traffic but maybe that will bring me more.
Moderator 1
06-11-2010, 04:13 PM
Anna,
If you don't do keyword research you will have a much harder time making sales and getting traffic. This is going to be the center of your whole campaign and is the first thing you do before anything else.
Let us know if you have questions. :)

06-11-2010, 11:28 PM
Thats a great topic Anna! It is very important to use targeted keywords within your campaigns. This is you basis for sales. Once this is done you will see a difference in the traffic back to your sites :)

Hey Jamie, I have the same problem as you. I write articles, spin them, and post them. Them try ping them but not all ping sites let you ping all ten articles so you have to leave them for another day and then it just builds up :)
Teddy
Forum Admin 2
06-15-2010, 02:13 PM
That is true Teddy. Some of the sites only allow a few at a time. Jaime left a link to additional pinging sites in another post that maybe helpful as far as using different sites to ping all the articles within one day. :)
http://www.squidoo.com/Ping-Tools
Trial and error Jaime, that is the best way to learn internet marketing for you really get to know what works for your campaigns and what does not. :)
