View Full Version : Getting More Sales From Your Site

I am getting quite a lot of visits to my site and blogs already. My visits to my website more than doubled overnight last night. I just don't understand how I am going to get people to buy the product once they click on the links.

Is it all about just continuing to send traffic to these places, and eventually the odds are the more people that visit the more that will end up buying the products in the links.

Can some of you give me some ideas that I can work with.

Make sure your content is informational. Most people like to find their information they are seeking.

Make sure your keywords are targeted. This leads the visitors to your sites for this is the information that they had typed into the search engines. Keep the traffic coming :)

You will want to have quality content that will give your visitors information they need that will get them to click through to your other links which should ultimately take them to your affiliate link, which may create a sale.

Since you are getting quite a bit of traffic, you are doing something right! :)

Hey There,

The more traffic that you get to your site, the more you will be able to use the metrics that you are getting to hone your keywords in. You will notice that the keywords you have optimized your page for are not the only ones that are brining people to your page. If you have good metrics set up on your site you should be able to see all of the keyword phrases that people use to find your website. Take a look at those phrases and see where you rank for them. If you need to rank higher, write articles and create backlinks for those keywords to build your authority.

Cheers,

Frank.

I know this is probably not typical, but I am putting 8 + hours a day into writing articles, promoting my sites, etc. I have the luxury to do that right now, because this is my only job. I have never been one to slack, when it comes to working. I have never been one to accept anything other than success, either. I always strive to be the best at anything that I have done over the years. With that being said, I look at this like I would any other career. You will work 8 + hours a day with any other Full-Time job that you have and with those other jobs, you are working for someone else and making them richer every second that you give them. I would much prefer to be doing what I am doing to make myself more prosperous. LOL

I just thought I would share some of what I am doing to gain more traffic to my sites........

1.) Article Writing
2.) Blogging
3.) Comments on other related Blogs
4.) Pinging
5.) Creating various Backlinks in everything that I post
6.) Forum Writing in several places
7.) Google Analytics - To see where traffic is coming from, so it can be replicated.

There are a few other things, but I thought I would leave it open for other people's ideas to be posted.......

Hi T-Shirt!!

Great to know about you. What I found great with my website was the fact that I switched from a free to a private web-hosting.

Now I am getting more traffic specially from those pages I create to write revisions about certain clickbank products. Search engines always look for fresh content and I think this is a very useful key. Another way is to use RSS content related to the page published.

Cheers!

Free traffic exchanges sound good. I would be curious to know if they're worth the time investment. I can't seem to justify the time commitment necessary for traffic exchanges.

I'd love some feedback regarding others' experiences though...

You have to really be careful with traffic exchanges. They can be very beneficial, but there are a lot out there that are not sending relevant traffic. People are searching for something specific such as a gardening site and instead they get to a site about cosmetics or something. It is irritating to the person searching for gardening tips.

Just make sure you research the site and see what others are saying, whether you pay for the traffic exchange or not. :)

This is where you want to research them first. There are some great ones out there, but as MOD1 mentioned, you get some of them that are not as they say :)

Does anybody know what are good numbers to shoot for regarding how many people click on your link and how many buy the product? For instance, I have an article where 52% of 61 readers clicked on my link and so far only 1 person has purchased. Is this average, good, or bad?

Moderator 1

One of the statistics out there that has been tested is that visitors will visit either that site or that product 7 to 12 times before they actually purchase the product. These numbers could change at any time obviously. :)

Jennifer, since you have successfully got the foundation in all aspects including traffic, crisp website, product niche, etc why not ask your visitors through a survey or two on your site itself for some time (a month or two):

1. When they plan to buy these products (Today, This Week, This Month)
2. Whom they are buying for (Self, Friend, Family, Gift)
3. The reason they are looking at (Self, Gift, Research, Just Browse)

A few questions, are you getting traction on the "Go Sleeveless" page, may be hide it into another page. I believe you are exposing a lot of options to the visitor to just navigate and browse around your site loosing focus on buying. If you don't mind my view may be only expose Home, Shop and Blog on the menu and have the rest as a sub menu under home?

You are so helpful and I am sure you are already rewarded for if not soon, I will love to and be happy to see you in the online guru lists one day. - Bob

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I have actually sold the site that you are referring to here, but have used the survey suggestion on a couple of other sites. I love the options for questions that you have talked about here. I may actually incorporate something like this into a new site that I have up now. I have some more work to do on it still. My pictures on it are quite blurry and I am working on getting that fixed. I went out and bought a new camera just for that purpose, because it is actually my own stuff that I have on this particular site. I need the pictures to look more professional. LOL

I look forward to talking to you more in the forum and I would love to be on the guru list one day.......that is what I am shooting for.

I just realized that my signature line was not up to date. I had updated it previously, but somehow it reverted back to my old signature lines and sites. It seemed like there may have been some kind of problem here earlier this morning, so maybe that had something to do with it. I have fixed it now.

Congratulations on the sale of your site, truly happy for you. Glad to see the rewards of MOIS.

Can you let us know when you sell a site, what goes with it? i.e. domain name, content, Wordpress premium theme etc.?

Checked your other sites, you are onto something Girl!!

If you have a site for sale let us know here too, you seem to be able to get some good sites out. Also, if you could share some tips on Wordpress that would be useful to all of us. Thanks - Bob

Let me know if this still not switch over, but I am thinking that these are your new sites you are displaying in your signature:)

Hi Bob,

I would be glad to help out in any way that I can. If you are already using Wordpress and run into any problems, please feel free to ask questions. I learned everything by asking questions along the way, and working inside the platform at the same time. I learn best by doing. If I just listened to everything that I was learning, I would never remember everything. My memory is awful, if I don't write things down. I have a whole notebook of notes that I just scribbled here and there as I was doing things, so I could refer back to it from time to time. The hardest thing that I have had to learn so far is how to work withing a hosting panel. It is very confusing. I still have things that I need to learn in that area, but so far everything has turned out. You have to know how to work inside the hosting panel in order to be able to make site transfers once they have been sold.

Right now, I am auctioning my sites off, have sent out some cl***ifieds promoting the fact that I will build a site based around what a customer wants (topic) that is unique to them only, etc. Until I get my site build for this purpose, they just email me. My intentions are to get a site built SOON, where I can just sell my sites outright rather than auction them off. I already have the domain registered for the site and know how I am going to build it as far as the looks of it, but I have to find time to get it done. Until then, my goal is to build a site every day or day and half to offer for auction.

I have a couple right now that I am still debating on whether to sell or not that is already built, but I have a couple of others that I built for myself and want to get promoted more. The sites that I am building now all have Premium themes that I build them on. As far as telling you the domain names, etc. here within a post, that would be against the rules. However, I can let you know by way of my signature to point you in the right direction of where you can check out the info of sites I have for auction. If the site in my signature is for sale, it will show at the top of the page when you go to the site.

Dylan,

There are many free ways to get traffic back to your websites. This can be done through article marketing, Cl***ified Ads, Social Bookmarking, linking websites to each other if within the same niche, and of course forum marketing.

Let us know if you have questions that we can help you with :)

What are you doing to get so much traffic to your sites and bloggs?

I spend a great deal of my time posting in forums like this one, linking my sites within other sites that I own, linking back to my sites in other ways like posting on other related blogs, free cl***ifieds ads, free press releases, word of mouth, being helpful to others at all times, writing articles, tweeting all of my posts, using facebook, and pinging all my posts daily, etc. My traffic is still not where I want it to be, but it is getting there. My traffic stats increase daily. I also make sure that I have useful content and lots of it on all of my sites as well. People love to read the articles that you have posted on your site, so it attracts customers. If you gain their trust, then those same people reading your articles that you have posted will at some point start buying your products.

Hope this helps some.
