I read a great article the other day, about twitter and how much you should tweet your websites vs regular non-marketing tweets. The basic idea is that it is dependent on how much you tweet but the general rule of thumb is market every 7 to 9 tweets. If all you do is market your products you will not have a strong following and you will see your followers drop off in droves. So get your tweets out there and make your marketing tweets irresistible!

Side note: Just a personal preference,I normally shy away from the twitter updater on squidoo it is BORING!

Get out there and market!!

I have not used this tool in quite awhile, but are you able to place your url in the post itself? I know that sounds silly, but really? ;)

Yes you are! That is the main value of the twitter service is that you are able to market your links directly in your tweets. I would say something like: Could you use a traffic boost? Check this blog on 5 tips to increase traffic - then copy and paste your URL

I have come to realize that the more active you are on Twitter and the more posts you make the more people that finds you and starts to follow. As of right now it is at an average of 2 to 3 people that follow me per tweet.

That's great keep up the good work! Your followers will start to take off and it actually gets to be a lot of fun with more followers. Try to search for people that are tweeting keywords that match your niche. follow them, and when they follow you, message them a thank you and tell them to check out a new blog you are working on! Works every time ;)

Sweetest, as you can only write 140 characters in one tweet it might be useful to shorten URL with http://bit.ly. Hope this helps! Roseanne

With Twitter you can write whatever you would like to. You can chat back and forth with your friends and family and others following you. Yes, you can also use it as a marketing tool and put a link in every now and then. :)

Most people put their everyday happenings on there. Here is an example, they could be working on a blog and mention that they are building one for a new product. This then lets followers know that they have a product that will be promoted before to long for viewing. There is so much you can do with twitter:)

Hi Roseanne,

Great tip, bit.ly not only will shorten your URLs it also has fantastic metrics for tracking the traffic that has clicked through your links.
