Keywords are an important part of any successful SEO process. This helps in improving your website’s SEO in a very consistent manner. The key to success lies in using the right kind of search engine optimization keywords. It is this aspect that is so very critical for the success of any SEO process. It is the kind of work that you put in the initial stages that actually determines the kind of results that your site is going to enjoy in the long run. So, how do I select the right kind of search engine optimization keywords for my website?

The first thing that you should do is to consider the topic of your website. Then make a list of all the keywords that people may use to search for the information related to the topic of your website. You can check out from your friends, relatives, customers and others and find out what keywords they may use to find out about your website. This will give you greater clarity on the kind of search engine optimization keywords for your website.

Great post! This is a major component of people finding you paired with methods used for traffic.

When finding these targeted keywords there will be 2 ways to bring up search results. One is through "broad match" this is when you are using a term such as teach my dog to sit 7,350,000 results. Once this is typed into the search, results provided will be anything with those words in it.

If wanting to find results for the "exact match", wrap the keywords in quotes "teach my dog to sit" 103,000 results . This will only show you results of just that phrase.

As you can see, the results are high. This is definitely not a keyphrase to market with. Try looking for an "exact" match within the range of 1000-5000.

"teaching my dog to sit" 16,300 results Notice how I changed my wording to get a better search result?

Journey has provided a great way to see what people are using when finding certain products by asking those around him. This is a good place to begin for then you can check out the keywords and also change the wording around until you find the right fit.

Tip- Have you noticed that when you type into the search engine other options appear? This is also another great way to get keywords or ideas:)

Great Post journeyoflife7,

There is a lot to SEO and certainly on page SEO is a big portion. One often overlooked little piece is to make sure that your pictures are named with your keywords in mind. Google will also index your images and looks at the file names when deciding if your information is relevant to a search.

Cheers!

Search engine positioning is actually the exact keywords and key phrases or search terms used that your prospective customers will typically write in the search box when looking for a particular product or service. while search engine optimization is the process of putting selected keywords and key phrases in a web site for SE positioning.

When I look for a keyword, I want to make sure it gets searched enough in Google to give me enough traffic, and essentially, make it worth my while. I usually aim for at least 1,000 exact name matches using Google's keyword tool. Then I'll take a look at the first page of Google, without quotes, to determine the level of competition. I use SeoQuake (a lot of people use Seobook) to get the pagerank and the number of backlinks to the sites on the first page of Google. If I see at least three sites that have pagerank NA, 0, or 1, I take this as a sign that there's a good chance I can make it to the first page.

In finding a keyword, try to consider the one with a low competition. You have a better chance of driving traffic to your website. If you choose a keyword with a strong competition, you will end up having a low chance of getting traffic.
