Any ideas on how to get started building

Any suggestions?

Have you started by getting an autoresponder? Then as you are directing traffic you can have an opt-in form on your site.
It's a start. Hope this helps you. :)

Are there any free auto responders out there?
Thanks in advance!

I have heard of a few autoresponders that are free but have not heard anything good about them. The only one that I hear only good things about is http://aweber.com/?318312. I use it and can't recommend it enough. There are many features that you can't get with the free ones as well. It is $19.00 per month. Well worth the investment if you can afford it and you will be able to get your lists all in one spot. Check out their site and get more info. :D

I am also with Aweber and must say it is a great tool to have with many great features. I too have not heard good things about free list buildiings site. However, lists are very important to have because really that is what it is all about. Finding people that are interested in what you are talking about and keeping in touch.

The one thing that you can't get with those lists is getting targeted, quality traffic. This is really important. :)

I am certainly not trying to sway you from using a paid service, but I have not heard good things about the free versions. Plus you will not get all of the bells and whistles that you will with the paid ones.
I am sure you can do a search on google or another search engine for free ones, unless of course any of our members can recommend one.
Good luck! :)

You can check out www.freeautobot.com. I would not recommend using the free autoresponders for a long period of time. Some of these free ones are supported by ad content and are known to have a poor delivery rate.
Hope this helps:)

Paid or not paid I think the important matter at hand here is how you are going to get the visitors to your website to give you their email address. Without these visitors coming to your website in the 1st place you cannot even start to think about building anylist.
So perhaps make a plan about what you intend to fill your website with to attract people and then work from there. Offer your visitors more than what you get and you should be on the right track.

Andrea,
I am ***uming that you are asking about aweber or getresponse? As far as using it on the free website provided by MOIS - no. There is an opt in form on there but it is from MOIS. If you decide to go with the pro sites you can do this.
You can find further information on this in the MOIS forum and if not, you can ask your questions there too. :)

Hey all, just wanted to share another way I have learned from another forum. It might work for some people.
Collect and save the email addresses of those who download your free ebooks. Most people do not make a purchase on the first solicitation. You may want to send out your message more than six times to make a sale.
This is the simple reason why you should collect the contact information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them why they got interested in the first place.
It's a great way to build a list, and possibly make a sale... killing two birds with one stone. Hope this helps.

Great information volybal3! This is a great way to set up your email even if you are not ready yet to do so. Once you are ready, build the list and start sending them out. You can find quite a bit of free ebooks on any niche you are interested in to offer to potential customers :)

It's better to use a paid but reliable autoresponder vs. a free one. I've found in the internet marketing world, that free does not always equate to quality.
Free autoresponders have extremely low delivery rates, and what if their server crashes with your list of 1000 people? There goes your entire cash cow. It's not easy to gain 1000 subscribers which can take a very long time.
Aweber is good. I use their cheaper partner site Automate Your List. Very, very easy to use and set up.

Gowriter,
Is Automate Your List set up pretty much the same as Aweber? This would provide more information for our members if you can add a little more detail expecially if it saves money :)

I haven't used Aweber because I thought they were a little pricey, but any emails you receive that come from Automate your list is from the Aweber platform. This was suggested to me by someone in another forum. The CEO is Michael R***musen who is a big time IM guru.
What I like about Automate Your List is that price-wise, you're paying one monthly payment for up to 10,000 leads. So the price is $19.95 a month, but if you pay for the service for the entire year, then you get a $60 discount which means you're just paying $14.95 per 10,000 leads.
And 10,000 leads is an incredible amount of leads. When you get your 10,001 lead, then you tack on $9.95 on top of your $14.95 all the way up to lead number 20,000, and the process repeats.
With Aweber and Get Response you've got graduated pricing. At lead 501, you're already paying $29 a month and the price increases with each level. If you're already using them and are satisfied, then keep using them.
Automate your List is just a basic but easy to use autoresponder. No fancy surveys or media recording features like you'll find in the bigger autoresponders. Just basic email marketing. If you wanted more features, sorry. This isn't the autoresponder for you.
But it's easy to set up because when you get started, a wizard box pops up in the bottom and walks you though the process and tells you how much you've completed in your set up. It's easy to find your subscribers. Easy to make your confirmation page. Easy to create your follow-up messages.
I like it because it's simple, no frills and gets the job done as well as cost effective.

I have been using Aweber, but I have not had any leads yet. I just have it set up as an autoresponder, though I am sure it has a lot more features. I figure I'll learn them as I use them.

Yes, you will there are so many uses. Just learn the basics now and as your list grows the other features will benefit you quite a bit. :)

This is funny, but after I posted my previous comment, I checked my Aweber account, and I had two new subcribers (plus someone who subscirbed and unsubscribed a few minutes later). Go figure. :)
