Create a resource box with high ctr keywords. Make an interesting resource box so people will be driven to click on your link. Inform them of some kind of benefit, like more information on your blog about the topic relating to your article.

Write with good spelling and grammer. Keep your sentences to the point and make them flow well. Reread your articles to make sure they sound as best as possible. Use engaging elements like lists or bold tags to keep readership and grab attention.

Another great tip is to keep your article where it is skimmable for the reader. Meaning, paragraphs should have no more than 5-6 sentences within them. If you write content with big paragraphs it can deter the viewer to finish reading the article. They want to skim through to find the information that lead them there to begin with.:)

Another great one to help your articles rank has to do with using "Keywords".

Think about what you want to write about in your article and then take that keyword and do a little research.

Go to Google's free keyword tool and type that keyword in.

Let's say you are doing an article about "How to create a website".

Type that long tail keyword in and Google will supply you with other similar search phrases.

What you want to do is look for one that has a HIGH amount of Global Searches (starting aroun 2,000 and up is good to start) and low competetion.

To get a gadge on the competiton you can go to the regular Google Search and type in that keyword. What you want to look for is something around 60,000-70,000 results or less to start.
(You can rank for much higher, but this is called going after the low hanging fruit!)

So now when you have a keyword that has 2,000 or more Global Searches and return less than 70,000 results, you know you have found a great keyword you can rank for.

Now it's time to keyword optimize your article.

1) Use the keyword in your title (the closer to the beginning the better)

2) Start your first paragraph with your keyword and use that same keyword throughout your article. (2% density is the general rule of thumb. ie..2 x's every 100 words)

3) Use the keyword in your resource box and hyperlink it back to your main site. (This creates backlinks and is 1 of the ways Google ranks content and sites)

Note ~ If you have a main keyword that you want to rank for in general, try to buy a domain name with that exact keyword. Not completely necessary but has shown to help your site to rank.

In all, provide true value and you will see your articles reach the 1st page of Google by underdstanding this process.
