For me it was pretty simple. I realized that no matter how good of
a job a had, my income was ALWAYS determined by someone else.
They controlled how much I did, or did not make, when I was to
be let go, or get a promotion. They had control of my life, when
it reality, it should have been the other way around.

How about you? What did it for you?

Mine would be due to medical reasons. I am still working full time with my day job and full time on my internet business. Not to much more to go before I can leave my day job. I figure within the year I should be good to go. One thing I need to make sure that is covered is the medical. Almost there, time and effort is continously put forth:)

I would have to say it was missing alot of time with my first son who is now 8. I had to work nights 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for the longest and I missed so much time with him due to having to sleep during the day and working a lot. I now have a 7 month old son and I refuse to miss watching him grow up. Plus I have a lot of making up to do with my first son. I knew I could no longer trade my time for money.

I wanted to stay home with my son who is now a little over a year old... I love to see all the precious moments! Couldn't imagine missing them! Plus, I was sick of working 14 hour days... ughhhh

I am currently a univeristy student now. What inspire me to get involve with internet marketing is actually after reading "Rich Dad & Poor Dad" series by Robert Kiyosaki. I am not sure if everyone here has read the book but basically it explains how in this day and age, we are living in the information age. The rules of wealth are beginning to change. Before only the wealthy has access to even more wealth because they have the power to control everything. In this age, the people with the most knowledge that are able to convert ideas into money are the ones who will make the big bucks.

Look around us, there are millionaires and billionaires out there today in their 20's. For example, the guy who invented facebook. How did they do it? Through the power of the Internet of course!! I only got out of highschool 2 years ago but it really took some time reading up on books and articles that I am finally convinced that internet offers so much opportunity for us to make money like never before.

Especially with the recent global financial crisis, it is clear that getting a job in itself is not even a guarantee thing anymore. Big companies like GM just went bankrupt and lots of other companies are downsizing. So youth in our generation today must start to think outside the box. Instead of just get your education (which is important) but besides an education, you have to spend time wisely on investing in your own financial education. The young people who are doing that in this generation will be the wealthy in years to come.

That is why I have started my internet marketing business after 1 year of reading everything there is to know about internet marketing. I hope this inspires all the young people like myself to get ready for a new adventure of internet marketing!

I pretty much had the same thought of you. I wanted to be able to choose my income, and to work from the comforts of my home without a boss.

1. I wanted to be able to have more time for my children.
2. Seems like the opportunities for prosperity are more wide-open in an internet business.
3. Related to #2, I yearn to be in a situation where I can help others more. One example of a dream I have is that I'd love to be able to take a needy family, set them up in a place to live, and teach the adults how to earn an online income. That idea really gets me going!

Hi Volybal,

I am in a similar line of thinking as you, I just wanted some extra income with something that I enjoy doing. I have been in sales for a large part of my young career. I have always been able to control my income via commission and this is very similar to working on commission in that you control how much you make!
The great thing is that you cant get laid off and if you have a bad month you dont have to answer to a boss just yourself.

I want to pay off debt, but I hate working for other people in an office environment. I also want to start a family soon and know that I will want to stay home. In addition, my boyfriend is a travel writer and I want to be able to pick up and travel with him without having to ask the boss for time off.

Thanks everyone for sharing what brought you to wanting to work from home. There are so many great reasons to do it. I think people would be healthier and happier if they spent more time pursuing their own goals and actually spending time with their friends and family.

Just remember by skipping days you may be losing some valuable information that is needed to finish the rest of you days. I know how much you want to get this going, but if you are missing vital information, you may become confused on what is being asked. There is a reason for the action plan and taking it day be day. :)

If you are following a specific plan by using a system or course try to follow it as much as possible or you might miss pertinent information that will be vital to your business. All you can do is try and give it all you got.

It is great to have forums where members are willing to help one another through the process. :)

Sometimes while learning new things you may have thought at one time that you would have ever learned and are pleasantly surprised when you do. :)
