I have heard that submitting your websites to link directories can help improve your traffic to that site. What are some good link directory sites if anyone uses them and how does it work?

Thanks in advance!

When using directories, these can play a very important role in helping your website become more visable as the search engines upon finding your site on a directory, consider these to be one-way links. This is turns adds more power to your site and will increase chances of your site being added to their listings.

There are quite a few free directories that you can choose from. Keep in mind, you want to submit to the higher PR (page rank) for these are the ones being used and looked more so than lower ranked. :)

Reciprocal link is a link on one website that will connect to another website. From this website the link goes back to the orginial website. This is a great way to increase you website traffic.

Hope this answered it for you :)

mmm not really sinking in. Do you mind if we break it down to basics.

Say for example i want to put my link into a link directory
at the begining they ask for my URL .... so i type in my website address www.XXXX.com

then later on they ask for the reciprocal link
whose like is this? theirs? mine? another website of mine? not sure on this sorry

I will go buy the hair dye tomorrow promise :)

Okay here we go,

Reciprocal link is a link on one website that will connect to another website. From this website the link goes back to the orginial website.

the reciprocal would be the other website, blog, or lens from the link of the first website.

Make sense? If not let me know :)

Oh great I got it ... the part i was not understanding is that you need to put their link somewhere on your web page. And then submit your webpage. I am right, yes?
