Hi everybody,

I just started looking into work from home programs and am curious about how everyone is making their money. I've been out of college for about 5 years now, and have unfortunately not been able to make enough to get out of the paycheck-to-paycheck living style. I've seen a lot of advertisements out there about affiliate marketing. Has that been successful for many of you? If so, what's been the best approach? In my research of affiliate marketing everyone always refers people back to their site. Is that more effective than incorporating the links into blogs and articles? Please let me know, and if there's something else I should be considering as a more effective means of supplemental income. Thanks for listening and for your advice. Hope all is well.

Hey Nevans5881,

Welcome to the industry! I am in a similar boat as you, out of college for about 5 years and always looking for some extra padding for the wallet. I have been marketing online for the last 7 months and am very honest when i say it is a lot of fun and provides a steady stream of income. I still have a day job and probably will for a while but I love this. If you look at the big picture, Affiliate Marketing and more specifically social media marketing, is a very valuable skill. The thing that I like about being an Social media marketer is that it is a skill, instead of taking surveys for money or surfing sites to get paid this is a learned business skill.

Here is my advice. Find a good program. Look through some of the links on this site and ask questions. I have been through 3 programs all of them were great and taught me different skills. It really is the only way to effectively learn this industry.

Feel free to PM me with specific questions, I am more than happy to help.

Good luck,

TSF

So I think I found a good program, it seems to hold your hand through the basics pretty well. What I am now curious about is the best method of affiliate marketing. Is the primary source of effectiveness simply getting people back to your site? It seems that the best way to diversify is attaching yourself to many different products. If so, do you then just write articles, enter into forums, and blog about these products with the link to the product's site? Or should I be expecting to have an individual domain for each type of product? Thanks for the help and your time.

The methods that are valuable is all in your promotions. These can be be done by articles, websites, blogs, Ads, forums, media, etc. The main idea is to get people back to your sites by providing great content that will appeal to a customer. :)

Hi,

I just started this business like you and found this program that really helped. At first I was very skeptical about this whole thing, but after studying and researching more and more I found out that it requires dedication that any kind of job out there also requires. If you are dedicated and have a straightforward goal then I think you can make that dream happen. Of course, whoever advertised to make a big bucket of cash just in a few days that is real scam, but there are actually good programs that help you start your on line business. What I am using right now is My Online Income System and it has 60 day action plan that you can follow each day for 60 days. I am at day 20 and it really is interesting. Considering the fact that I am really new to this whole thing I am getting a lot of good information.

If you are new to this whole thing that program is good start. She explains this whole industry for newbies and easy to read, too. Also, you get to join the member forum which is similar to this, and I was very surprised how fast they reply to your answer. They are really resourceful. If you have more questions let me know.

I am also doing the My Online Income System. I've gotten through the first 31 days and it is working wonders. I'm shocked at how many hits I've gotten on my website. I'm not sure yet where it is coming from; whether it's the articles, forums, or blogs, but it's definitely paying off. Thanks for advice and the encouragement! Hope all is well for everyone!

There really isn't a "best" type of program for learning how to make money with affiliate marketing. What matters is that you have a good mentor that teaches strategies, not just "tricks and secrets". They also need to be honest. Give you the big picture behind affiliate marketing. Teach you the techniques but also explain why those techniques are done a certain way.

There are plenty of experts who make a lot of money, but do a terrible job of teaching it. There are experts who are feeding you a load of baloney and you not know it. There are experts who spend a good 3/4 of their program talking about themselves and how they "made their way".

The focus of each program should be on you. And experts should make themselves available when you have a question. Sometimes they have a customer service who may respond via email, but your questions should be answered in timely fashion, preferably no later than a day. Sometimes experts get busy so it could take a week; that's understandable. As long as you have someone to feedback with, you're good to go.

This is why I prefer coaching. I like to interface with the expert. Be careful of professional coaching that can cost thousands of dollars. They're good, but you don't need to spend that kind of money. I've been through 2 of them only to find that my current coach who is way cheaper is much, much better and over delivers.

Also experts and coaches themselves are not afraid to admit that they are learning from mentors, too. Good coaches always maintain and stay current. They don't sell you old programs that don't work anymore. That would be dishonest.

If you've found a program that's been working for you and getting you results, then stick with it. Don't jump-jump. You won't make progress that way. If it's not working for you, then move on.
