Most people who enter the world of affiliate marketing ***ume that making money on the Internet is easy and that it will happen with little or no effort, they expect immediate results and foolishly think they will make millions of dollars over night. This mentality mostly comes to be blamed by the sales pages of these people land when they are looking for a way to make money online. This so called gurus who make affiliate marketing seem like a dream job where you only work a few hours per day and make bank. (which it can be as long as you are willing to work hard and put in the work).
Unfortunately, this mindset opens up opportunities for scam artists and their get-rich schemes, which are basically a way to literally steal money from hard-working, yet desperate people.
When people get scammed, the next logical step for them to take is to quit. They may say something like
"this doesn't work, it is just a way for someone else to make money by taking advantage of me"
and so they quit.
By doing so, they hence the forever growing list of those who fail at affiliate marketing. No wonder why about only 5% manage to succeed.
I see mindset as being the biggest problem of why people fail. What people need to understand is that affiliate marketing is just like any other business out there. You need to put the time and effort to make it work. It is something that doesn't happen over-night, it happens over-time.
If someone who is starting with affiliate marketing keeps this mentality, I can guarantee you that they will be better off than about 50% of the people who try it.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money on online, but YOU have to make it work. It definitely has lots of advantages when compared to a standard business. The start up cost can be very low or you might not have one at all. It is flexible, and it is really not that much work. It is consistent work.
In order to succeed with affiliate marketing, you need dedication, willpower and applied knowledge. Think about this last one in particular... "applied knowledge".
You can read and learn tons and tons of things about affiliate marketing or any other topic that interests you, however, if you don't apply that knowledge you pretty much have nothing. Knowledge without action is just good reading.
If you want to be successful with affiliate marketing, don't just by the first program you see that sounds good... they all sound good. You must take your time and look for the right information and resources necessary for you to succeed. You need to do your homework and see if that program is even right for you. No one else is going to do that for you, you and only you can do that.
You will also have to find the time and effort to literally plug it into your everyday life. Like I said before, it will not happen over-night, it will happen over-time. Finally, if you add persistence and willpower and you will succeed without a doubt.
