View Full Version : What's First...What's Second...What's Most Important?

I've been struggling with what to do and what's most important. The learning curve is still beating my up pretty badly and I vaguely realize that I need to be more organized in my approach but really don't know where to focus.
I have numerous articles, lenses and blog posts out there with links to some places but not others. I know that I need to keep writing and continue to add links, and I will, but I have a hard time writing all day too...so...in my "spare" time...what's next on the importance list?

I know that how you link is important. For instance, one article is more effective if linked to three or four places (if allowed) instead of just one or two and it will also help that article get ranked. Should I take the time to go back through and check all of the links and then add links or cloak the links for security? Or just focus on putting out more articles?

Another example...lenses do better with more links. Lensrolling and RSS feeds both help with links and getting your pages found so that's important too. But I know basically nothing about either. Should I spend my time learning those to apply to my existing articles or write more?
Do I spend the time improving what I have (because I have a strong feeling that if I add just a few of these things to what I already have that my sales would go up) or keep pushing forward with new campaigns and new products?

I understand that it's all about balance and that I should, ideally, do both or all of it, but what's first and what's second as far as importance?

Most days I feel like I have to either ignore one or two things to focus on another or I just go around in circles, not really getting anything done.
I know I'm not the only one with this affliction. I think I'm right on the edge of things starting to happen so any help would be MUUUCH appreciated.

First, you pretty much answered your own question on what to do. To not be more overwhelmed, you should concentrate on finishing setting up your campaigns for the products you are promoting. Once this is done, then add another product and do the same thing.

Keep it organized. Know what you have done for each product by keeping track. Re-evaluate what you have going on now and fill in the gaps where needed.

For lensrolling and RSS feeds I think I provided you with some great information to look through.

I would do all that first before thinking of adding any other products. Plus once you are done, you will have a system set up that you can follow for your next promotional product.

Hang in there, you are doing a great job, just need to get your organization under control. This will take a lot of stress off once done :)

Hey Admin...thanks for the input. I just read the cloaking thread and I guess that's what I was looking for. Things that are important that maybe I don't know or am
overlooking.
Within my current campaign...to do a final checklist before I move on...what should I be looking for and checking?
Obviously, I need to figure out the cloaking thing and change all the links I have, but after that?
Check the number of links I have? Is the goal to have the maximun amount of links per article or more articles with fewer links?

Something I read last week..how to check the number of links to a site
link:www.yoursite.com will give you the number of direct links to your site. Not anchor links.(Sometimes you need quotes and it doesn't work for me in Google, just Yahoo)
Do anchor links help as much as direct links because none of my anchor links show up on this search? Or is there a better way to search? Is this even important?

Hi Rosa41,

Your final checklist will vary as to how many links that you will need to your main page but here is what I like to have per campaign. First you want to make sure that your landing pages are as good as you can get them. You want to be really satisfied with these pages so that they will convert well for you. I am always tweaking these pages about once a week maybe a bit less.

The next thing that you want is to have a handful of articles or ads/ press releases or your website that are in the top 3 spots on google for your keyword. If that keyword gets good traffic you should be able cash in on that in the top 3 spots.

I tend to use squidoo and wordpress for landing pages and I will use blogger as a true blog format. (So far I feel that wordpress and squidoo rank better with google, in that order) I will post once every couple of weeks to my blogger blog and feed that RSS to my lens or wordpress blog. I have heard that as a rule of thumb you want a sale every 100 visitors ( might be off base here, might be less) Some of my campaigns are significantly better than that some are right at the 100 visits per sale mark.

Backlinks help a lot to improve your website rating but in the end you want to have quality links that effectively funnel traffic to your site.

I hope this is helpful!~

OK...TSF...I need you to back up. Landing pages first. Squidoo and Wordpress for landing pages and then affiliate link to the product. Do all of your articles go to a landing page or so some have affialite link? Do you not like the sales page or do they not convert well? Or is it mainly to increase your list?

Secondly, is there a secret method to getting in the top three on Google?

Lastly, thanks for taking the time and sharing all of the valuable information. It really has helped a lot.
