Couple of questions here.

Firstly do you think its necessary to submit your site to hundreds of search engines or do you think the top say 10 is enough?

If you change your website, do you have to re-submit it again and then wait another week or two?

Actually any information you guys have on this would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Ziggy-Zoo,

Just curious what services you are using to submit your sites to the search engines? I normally ping my websites after every update and change, same with my blogs. This helps the search engines crawl your page and place it among the rankings. I use Pingler.com / Feedshark/ and Pingoat.

I am not sure If this is what you mean but I will check back to this thread for more feedback!

Best,

TSF

If you submit your articles to directories I would use the top sites. As for what TSF mentioned, you should always ping when adding or editing your website, blogs, and ads. Also remember after you articles are approved, you can ping those also.

To add to the list that TSF has, you can also use http://technorati.com/ping/

Let us know if this did not answer your questions :)

Ok i didnt know about the ping thing (that sounds rude LOL)

Why would you need to use so many different places to ping? Wouldn't just one ping be enough?

thanks

Not all of these ping sites ping to the same ones. That is why it is good to use a couple of them so that it reaches other areas. More is better :)

Just keep your list Ziggy and you will do just fine. Check them off as you are campaigning your product. That way you stay orgainzed and you won't miss anything :)

I just recently figured out the ping thing and it wasn't so difficult. I'm curious to see if things happen any faster with the ones I updated today. I'll check back for any more info here.

This has been some great ideas. I have just pinged one of my sites. I will be interested to see if it makes a difference. I had never heard of pinging before. This is very interesting. I have advertised on a few sites and have submited a few articles. I have a few people look at them but have only had 1 buyer hopefully this will help.

paulie65 what I have learnt is every little bit help ... a ping here and a ping there can only help more i guess.

Lets face it the thing about promoting your business online is that it definately doesn't produce success overnight - it takes a lot of hard work promoting and persistance at submitting articles and tweeking your methods of promotion as you go along.

It is not always an overnight success, it is a lot of hard work, but knowing that it will pay off nicely later. :)

Success will come soon enough. It does takes time and effort, but in the end it will be well worth it :)
