Hi Everyone,
I am wondering how many keywords you normally optimize your articles for?
I have been using one phrase per article but am re-thinking that approach and adding 2 keywords with some recent articles and the jury is still out on the results.
What is your normal approach?
Thanks,
TSF

I normally use 1 keyphrase and a few times I have used 2. I also think it depends on which ones you are using. If they work well together and make your article flow then use them. But most of the time I use one keyphrase per article so that I can use the others seperately.
I noticed when I had used 2 keyphrases though they rated pretty well within the search engine under each keyphrase I had used.
Give it a try on one of your articles and see how it rates. :)

Most of mine I just use one, but is definately worth trying 2. Have you tested this yet and how is it working? Any results? Good or bad?
Anyone else doing either of these? :)

You can also do this within your websites. For me it seems that if you have these keywords within a website, the search engine will also pick these up as they search through your content. This adds a little more credibility to your sites:)

I use 1 or 2... just depends. I have tested both and I think it is about the same really. Great question, TSF! Will be interested to see what others have experienced. :D

I actually submitted an article to Ezine, and they immediately kicked it back telling me a particular keyword was used too many times. I deleted a couple of instances, and it went through. But I find it interesting that they scan the submissions for excessive keyword repetition.

Yes they do it is called "keyword stuffing". Ezine can be pretty strict in their policy of what they will accept and what they won't. I had found the use of this submission site a great learning experience. I had not however had any articles returned due to excessive keywords, but more of the selling aspect. You learn quickly how to rewrite by using a different state of mind. :)

Ezine Articles is an authority site with Google and other search engines. Very wise to use them as much as possible. :)

Oh, I actually like Ezine Articles for all the tools they have there. And some of their rules may seem like a pain, but they are actually helpful. For instance, don't the search engines penalize your article if you put too may instances of a particular keyword in there? Ezine Articles prevented that right off the bat.
One thing I didn't like: They deleted my link in the "About the Author" section because I had two links in the article itself. No big deal, but it was something I overlooked when I wrote the article.

Yes they do, it is keyword stuffing. I do not understand why they would have taken your link out of your resource (bio box). You are allowed to have two. I normally do my conlusion with a link in this box, and then my authors paragraph will have another link to another site.
Unless I misunderstood, and you had actually had the links in the your article content :)

I have submit articles in Ezinearticles but it is difficult. If you have spelling errors your article will not be approved. If you use a word to many time your article will not be approved. In about 2 weeks ago I write an article about an acne product. I used the word "drugs" in my article. When EA had preview that deleted it because words like drugs is not good in a article.

Are you using your spell checker? This tool will normally help you to find your errors. To find other words that mean the "same as" try looking in the Thesaurus for other meanings for the word "drugs". This way you can replace your word. You may have to revise your sentence for there are a few different ways these other words are used.
Let us know if you have any other questions:)

Forum Admin 2 gave you some good tips. Ezine Articles is sometimes a little tough, but well worth it. :)

Thanks for asking this question, TSF! I think I just asked this question on one of the other threads and found the answer over here! I think I've been a little schizophrenic with my keywords as a newbie, so thanks for bringing this topic into the mix.

Keyword research is a big topic of discussion in a lot of the forums related to internet marketing, as it is quite essential in our line of work.
Make sure that your key phrases are targeted and know your competition. :)

Well, I was completely confused by it before reading this thread, but now I have a little better understanding. I was selecting up to five key phrases for each article and now I know that I only need one or two at the most!

I think I had a link to one of my blog pages and a link to my webpage in the body of the article itself. The one in the "About the Author" section was the third link, so they deleted it. They didn't delete the text of the link; they just made it text instead of a hyperlink.

Andy if you are talking about your ezine article, a good technique to use is to add your final paragraph in with your bio paragraph. This way you can add your two different links within this section. :)

Yes, it was an ezine article. I never thought about adding the final paragraph in with the bio paragraph. I may have to try that if I have multiple links. Thanks.

Let me know how it goes when you try this out. Make sure you are only providing the two links within this section :)

I just got my first Ezine article rejection. They sent me an email to go to the contact page at Ezine, but I didn't know what to say other than, "Uh, you sent me an email rejecting my article. What gives?" LOL
I re-read it, and it does look a little too promotional and a little light on the information and review side. I was going to re-write it, but I figured I'd wait until they tell me what's wrong with it.

If it looks to promotional they will reject it. When writing a review you need to just point out the pros and cons. Do not try selling within your article, you want the reader to be persuaded by your pros and the natural flow of your article.
Are you letting your personality come through within your article? Be yourself, have fun with it. For myself it is always engaging to read articles that are not trying to sell me something, but being very tactful in providing the information I am looking for while also letting the persons traits show through.
Also keep in mind, that once you do your revisions, you will probably end up getting a different person to view your article and it will go through without any other problems.
I would not wait for their response. Sometimes it can take a day or two. Within that time frame you could have re-wrote it and re-submitted it again. The other best thing is that once you resubmit it, it will pick up where it had left off. Meaning you will not have to wait another 5-7 days. :)
