Has anyone used Craigslist.com to promote their business or drive traffic to their website? If so, how successful has Craigslist been? I know a lot of people who are always on there looking to buy things. I have even sold a few things on there myself. I was just curious if it was worth the time it would take posting ads and links on all the various locations.

Many people use Craigslist as a source of marketing as well. You just have to be careful with anything you use, whether you are buying or selling from anywhere. Research is key! :)

I have heard of a few successful use of craigslist. I personally have not used this technique but feel it is worth trying.

Have you read through this lens yet? It will provide some useful information if you choose to try it.

If you choose to try craigslist, please come back in and share your experience. I am sure quite a few members would appreciate it :)

Thanks for the link to the Squidoo lens. One of the things the lens mentions is posting the ad in the Small Business section. I thought that was a good idea. I discovered that Craigslist prohibits advertisements for work at home businesses in the Jobs section, so that's something to remember if you want to use Craigslist.

Thanks for sharing that bit of information. That will for sure help our members who are interested in advertising with them! :)

In researching that topic, I too found quite a few mentioning to use the small business. They also say not to post under different categories. Otherwise they will add it as spamming Craigslist.

If you choose to go this route, come back in and tell us how it went for you :)

It would be good to hear the experiences any one has had. Haven't really heard too much about this particular avenue of marketing lately. :)

I have stayed away from Craigslist with some of the bad publicity, but I have heard that people do really well advertising with them. :D

I think it is part of playing the game of knowing where to list and how to write a good advertisment without it sounding salesey :)

I may wait a bit before trying Craigslist. I thought it might be a good idea because my wife found her MLM opportunity on Craigslist, but with the flagging problem combined with the fact that they do not want you posting the ad for more than one location, it may be more effective to follow other avenues. I'll have to think about it.

As you are pursuing other avenues, continue to research Craigslist when you have time until you have all the information at hand so you will be ready if you choose to take this route. :)

There are other ways to advertise - free and paid ways. You have to do what you feel comfortable with. :)
