Hi All,
I would love to hear great ideas of how you start an email campaign? Do you buy a list, create one? but if your just beginning how do you start? What is the most cost effective way to get going?

You can either buy a list or collect information through your webiste. There are companies that will do the email blasts for you or you could do it through Microsoft Outlook.

You can collect names and emails through your website using an opt-in form and by utilizing an autoresponder service in conjunction with that. This way your list is maintained there as well. I personally use AWeber.

And if you do not know what to write then you can pay attention to all the e-mails you get from people that you signed up for. You can get some great ideas on where to start and what to say.

There are 3 major types of email marketing available.
1. opt-in email - consits of sending emails to a list of addresses that has been compiled by your company with permission from the user. This type can benefit most online businesses. By using this option you are easily able to keep track of customers and supply and update of your products or services.
2. bulk email marketing - is sending announcements to a list of email addresses that your company has purchased. It is very inexpensive method to reach a large number of customers. The negative impact is that most email marketers SPAM their list with junk mail.
3. email newletter marketing - consists of when an online business identifies an email newletter that reaches their target audience, and then places an advertisement with an email newletter. This is a great method for marketing, but is also the most expensive. Most will read the newsletter, where others will delete the message without reading anything but the subject line.
