View Full Version : Is change good or bad?

Any thoughts???

I do think change is inevitable, just like trying to stop
the sun from coming up everyday.

I do believe people adapt to change, or are forced to do so.

What has been your experience? Good Change? or Bad Change?

I think it depends on how you are perceiving the change. :)

I think change can be a good thing - to freshen things up or improve them. Some people have a very difficult time "changing". On the flipside, sometimes changing what isn't broke as they say, could be detrimental. It is all in how you look at it or how you act to the change. :)

It depends. What may be a good change for some may not be a good change for others. For me? Change has been good due to the fact, change could do nothing but help me. I had to change, I was headed down the wrong road...of self destruction basically. So for me, change is great!

Keep your focus and try to stay on the right path. So far it looks like you are putting all the bad past energy and making it into a great positive for future success. :)

when you have a debt from travelling around like i did. You have to change something.

i was bored with the way my life was before travelling, so i went travelling the change did me a world of good.

ok i came back with debt, but im changing again now by trying to earn a bit of extra incmoe to clear my debt quicker.

i think change is very good. but it does depend on the person and circumstances.

I have read in several business magazines and books, that being able to thrive in change is one of the most desirable traits that you can have in a business landscape.

Just think how much change is in our business... Something that affects us can change almost daily.

A person needs to be able to adapt to the changes on a daily basis. One benefit is it never gets boring, for you are learning each day :)

You are so right Admin 2 as i am learning new things every day doing this. I think also to succeed at this you have to be able to embrace change or you will be left behind.

I believe change in the "online business" is a must. Things on the internet change constantly and if you don't move with the change you will be left behind.
Personally I think change is good. I made some personal changes and it has opened up a whole new world for me.

That is a good way to put it Teddy - that change can open up a whole new world for you. :)

You can learn alot about oneself in this line of work. Like with any job, you learn where your strengths are and can look at your weaknesses and build on them. :)

One thing that change allows for is to be able to answer the question "If I could do it differently, how would I go about it?" Sometimes it is easy to see this (the big picture), but more often, at least in my life, not always.

Or if you could do it differently, how could it be done better or easier. :)

I think that as long as you try and never give up, you will
learn things along the way, which you can in turn apply to
your business. The important thing is that you keep at it.
Change is going to happen, how you adapt to it, is up to
the actions you have taken in the past to prepare for it.

Here is a great quote that fits us all: :)

"What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it." Alexander Graham Bell

In school we really did not have as much ambition as we do now. The older you become the more you are able to look at the world and have a better understanding of how it works and how to achieve the success you desire. :)

Change is always good, even thought it may not seem like it at the time. If things don't change we become set in our ways and stop growing as a person. You need new experiences, both good and bad, to become a better person.

I like the saying: - "If nothing ever changes - nothing ever changes!" If you are happy in your current circumstances then that is good, but if you are unhappy, even changing the way you think can make a huge positive difference in your life. So - yes, I think change is a good thing because most of us are wanting to learn, grow, experience more, and we really cannot do this without some form of change.

This might sound strange but i think we are a bit like sponges, where we suck up more information on a daily basis. If you notice it does,nt matter how heavy the sponge gets it always floats.

So by opening our minds to the information we are gathering, that is allowing us to change as the information changes hopfully moving our busineses forward with the times and benefiting with more sales.

Good Luck All!

If our brains did not absorb information we would all be walking zombies with no ambitions. Adding to ones knowledge base is a wonderful thing and I am very thankful for my daily lessons that I learn. As you mentioned Jaime, the sponge always floats no matter how much it absorbs and so does our brains. There is always room for more knowledge :)

What you said is very important - 'change as the information changes' - this will allow for personal and business growth and will help you with your marketing efforts and sales! :)

As I'm a creature of habit I don't always embrace change, but it is a necessary requirement in our evolving planet.

It usually works out good for the earth, but not for your immediate bank balance.

Sometimes this is true Mark. Othertimes it is just minor tweaking where you do not lose anything but gain more :)

I saw a quote once:
"Life is 10% what you make it -and 90% how you take it."

I'm not sure I agree with that completely, but is it good food for thought.

Change is inevitable. Like it or not -everything is in a state of flux -of constant evolving change. Like the philosopher Heraclitus wisely noted: "You cannot step into the same river twice."
Meaning that the river you think you see, is merery flowing waters that continue to change, erode the banks and wash by you as you stand. The 'river' is never the same -just as we are never the same.

Good or bad, I do not know. But change washes by us or we go with the flow.

Hey! I made a ryhme!

For the most part, I think that change is a good thing. Everything changes at some point. Society, Technology, the Economy and so many other things. All of these things do force change. I don't feel like you should fix things that are not already broken, but at the same time it is my opinion that if you don't adapt to the changes that are all around us every day, then you could get left behind. For example: I know people who refuse to own a computer, because they do not want to keep up with the technology. Look at what they are missing out on.

As for personal change, I feel like changes should be made, when they are appropriate. I am big on Philosophies, and one of my personal favorite philosophies and/or sayings is, "If you do not make a change in your life, then you will always have what you have now." If you can be satisfied with what you have in your life right now, then that is all well and good. However, most people that I know are always looking for a little bit more, even if it is just a little more freedom from the daily grind and a little more time to enjoy their family and the things that they have acquired thus far. After all, what is the point in working, if you cannot enjoy what you have worked so hard for.

To sum it up......Change is a Good Thing at certain times in your life. You just need to know when it is time to make that "Change."

You are so right when saying that they are missing out if they do not somewhat keep up with technology. It is amazing what is all available now. :)

I hope I haven't got off the topic, but your quote Paul made me think of this article about the 90/10 principle.

http://socyberty.com/issues/the-ninety-ten-principle/

I guess it has to do with change (this topic) because it has to do with changing our reactions which creates change in our circumstances.

I hope you will find it interesting...

That was a good read -thanks.

There are many things that the 90/10 principle is used to explain...like:

10% percent of the players score 90% of the goals
10% of your customers represent 90% of your headaches
10% of your employees produce 90% of your income
You wear 10% of your wardrobe -90% of the time
10% of your efforts produce 90% of your results
10% of your diet causes 90% of your weight gain

-and on and on....It's crazy, isn't it?
